January 5 we kicked off 2020 with our sixth event at Switch & Signal Skatepark in Pittsburgh. Emily Marko, an illustrator and visual problem solver created custom illustrations for our attendees to help them “Shred 2020.” A portion of the proceeds were donated to Footbridge for Families, a nonprofit start-up created by our yoga instructor Kim Eckel Footbridge aims to buffer children by connecting caregivers who are experiencing financial stress with others in the community willing to anonymously provide short-term financial help. January 2020 was our biggest event yet with 28 skaters thanks to our first promotional partnership with Girls Running Shit.
